Quick report
Travel along the road was quite pleasant with ski penetration from about 2-6". Once passing rock creek lake I noticed that the east gully of Pointless Peak had slid. So I went to get a closer look. Leaving the bench below, travel became challenging with a thick crust atop wet and faceted snow. No cracks or collapsing was seen or felt while ascending the adjacent trees. Not wanting to ski more crust than I had to, I turned around. Boot penetration was near the top of my boots while transitioning.
