Quick report
- Red Flags
- Heavy Snowfall, Wind Loading, Cracking, Poor Snowpack Structure
With significant snow accumulation forecast for the next 24 hours as well as winds as high as 48 mph I expect the avalanche danger to rise significantly. I would not be surprised if it warrants a high danger rating by tomorrow morning.

-
Wind was blowing at a moderate speed and transporting significant amounts of snow. Despite this I observed only a little wind slab growth but pay attention to this and know that it could be buried under new storm snow.

We definitely have poor snowpack structure at least in the garden city area. Almost the entire snowpack under the new storm snow seemed to consist of sugary faceted snow. As a bigger load is put on these facets it will become more dangerous.
