Quick report
Today, our goal was to investigate the snowpack near the reported avalanche in the Midway Apron. We found a persistent weak layer above a crust, where our test results showed propagation. The second observed avalanche that happened today in Forbidden Gully supports our findings.
Our observation on the Ramp confirms this weak layer, too, but we didn't get propagation results there. The top 7" of new snow fell with 1" of SWE throught the day.

While we were out in the field it kept snowing, mostly graupel. Winds were calm throughout the day. Visibility was very low and the ridge was mostly covered in clouds.
Snowpack
Our snowpack observations show, that we can find a concerning weak layer deeper in the snowpack above a crust. In our test results at Midway Apron showed a propagating result (ECTP23@23).

The avalanche from yesterday at Midways Apron released on a persistent weak layer. Due to poor visibility we couldn't gather more information for the debris spotted below Forbidden Gully.
