Snowpack
Snow continues to be sparse. No formal snowpits were dug. The snow is mostly concentrated in high alpine bowls, gullies, and at the end of Powerline Pass. The snow surface is primarily hard and icy or has a thin breakable ice crust. As mentioned in the last observation, until we get a refresh of snowfall, the likelihood of triggering an avalanche remains low. The Chugach State Park is great right now for hiking, hunting, trail running, and fat biking, but not great for skiing, split boarding, or snow machining.
