Quick report

We toured up into Broken Top on Friday morning with the hope of scoring some good snow before the sun baked it on Friday afternoon. The south and west facing slopes all had a crust from Thursdays afternoon sun. We observed several large wet slides on the west side of the east rim. We moved over to the east aspect of the west ridge and the snow qualify was much better. We ascended Pucker up to the bottom of a large crown from a prior avalanche staying to the right side of the slope away from the crown. The crown appeared to be from an old avalanche and likely slid on the ice crust from several months ago. There was a large debris field at the base of pucker that was largely covered by new snow. The sun softened the snow on pucker and it skied well.
