Quick report

Cracking
specific
Collapsing
widespread

While out for a morning tour this morning up the Tuckerbrook CCC ski trail, I dropped into the steeper glades known as "locals only". About halfway down this slope, I made a turn on skis and noted a large whumph which resulted in shooting cracks. This is likely evidence of the persistent weak layer. Things to note: this short steep (estimate of 35*) slope faces NE, and is below treeline at approximately 1800ft elevation. This observation is outside of the forecasting range but may be indication that the persistent weak layer may be more widespread. Be careful out there!
