Quick report
Although the higher elevations have been effected by recent E winds, there was still plenty of soft snow to be found in sheltered areas below tree line. Surface faceting has improved the skiing in these areas. Anywhere exposed to E/NE winds showed signs of wind transported snow, however we did not observe any cracking or signs of instability in these areas. Warm sticky surface snow was observed on solar aspects by the end of the tour.
Snowpack
Dug a quick snow profile on a small steep N slope to look at snowpack layering in this area (See pic). HS was shallow in this area (80cms), with 15 cms of recent snow on the surface. Multiple rain crusts exist within the snowpack with softer faceted snow developing beneath many of those crusts. CT 23 (SC) and PST 30/100 end SF on 1mm facets sandwiched between 2 crusts in the mid-pack.
