Quick report
Relatively warm conditions and very light winds out of the SW during our travels. Hasty pit at 7900ft on a N slope had a snow depth of 215cm. We observed the expected layers of storm snow, slab, Valentine's surface hoar, slab, 2/8 interface, on top of sugar snow. We also dug a pit on the ridge at 8800ft on a NE aspect and found about 75cm of snow. About 25cm down was a 40cm icy slab layer atop sugary faceted snow at the ground. CT2 at 25cm. ECTX but the whole thing was shearing with a shovel on facets at the ground. Fun skiing on northerly aspects out of avalanche terrain, though it was getting pretty creamy below 7500'.
