Great day at Lolo with good snow on sheltered aspects. Riding was a bit crusty on solar aspects. ECTN17 at the top of the rain crust 38 cm below the top of the snowpack. We also found 5-6mm surface hoar crystals buried 11 cm below the surface. It was not reactive in our tests due to the low strength of the slab above it, but it could become a problem layer in the future.
