Quick report

Cracking
isolated

Dug a pit in the too steep to tele trees near the ridge top, and then skied into Jenny Bowl, exited above the normal exit track. On the W,S, and E aspects, a 1.5 cm MFCr down 15 cm was present and supportive. In steep areas, the new snow sluffed easily on this crust. Wind loaded pockets cracked easily above the crust. Approximately 120 cm of snow near ridge tops, 90 cm mid slope. 10 cm new snow, and evidence of wind loading on N-SE aspects. Calm SW winds, light snow and mainly overcast in the afternoon. Snow intensity picked up around 2 pm to S2. CTM 15 RP, ECTN 17 down 32 cm. 8 cm of sugary snow near ground, but seems to be bonding. When tipping over columns after tests, the lower snowpack would stay together.
