Monday is a guestimate based on a dusting of more recent snow. There is a long 3'-4' crown fracture 150 yards above a line of rocks. The main portion looks shallow & was probably cold dry storm snow. I think it might have lost inertia rather than grown with entrained load. Everest Ridge has leeward loading that could cause a repeat.
On Saturday 1-7-23 there was a lot of ski tracks on the upper bowl & it looked stable.
I just noticed a second area at about 8800" with a 6' crown above swept firm slab. It looks more recent. I didn't notice it this morning, but I don't think it happened today.
As I scanned the west side of Timpanogos earlier, I noticed that most of the Western ridges had prominent
leeeward build-up with sharp lips from North-Westerly winds. There was also a lot of crown fractures running parallel below. Timp has hidden behind clouds most of the last week. I do wonder if this is from a single or multiple events.
There are a few fresh roller fests roughly around 7500' further to the south, from this afternoon.
The West face of Cascade Mountain is heavily loaded, but I haven't seen anything big or small yet since the last storm. And the Northerly Bridal Veil drainage nukes it. "Hmm...". Gonna meditate a bit on that...
