Observation: Park City Ridgeline

Had a look at coverage around PC ridgeline and snowpack on northeast aspect at 9400ft. Snow depth on shady aspects at upper elevation is 12-16". South half of the compass melted out to 10000ft. East aspects thin cover with wet snow.

Northerly aspects faceted from surface to ground. 5-10cm layer of 2-3mm depth hoar at ground sometimes overlying pencil hard crust. Above depth hoar is generally faceted fist hardness snow. Some northeast aspects had a thin surface curst with facets beneath. Not much of any skiing or avalanche danger on the Park City side. There is no slab as the PC side missed the recent wind loading and there would not be much snow to transport from westerly aspects anyway. The snowpack is still very thin and also hasn't overcome even small anchors and is below threshold.
