We skinned up a southerly aspect and were met with breakable crust most of the way. Looks like the winds scoured the aspect. The thick crust, pwl?, was only about 10cm down on solars past the top crust. 4/5 hand shears at various elevations produced planer breaks at the ice crust. At the ridgeline, we noticed all the good low density snow is on northern aspects. The winds were also loading the northern aspect. I ventured into the northern aspect and did an ect at 6420 elevation. Found the pwl at 120cm and it propagated on tap 24 with a planer break and the entire block slide. With this information we stuck to low angle terrain staying away from northern aspects. The area could still use some more snow to fill in at lower elevations or wind affected slopes.
