Quick report
We entered the bowl at around 07:30. Upon entering steeper terrain in the bowl runout, I stomped around on a few moderately wind loaded test slopes and did not observe any cracking or instability in the new snow. We started up left gully and found descent coverage for November. The new snow depth ranged from a meter of snow to scoured surfaces. Above the choke in left gully we found a wind scoured, firm, crusty surface. Below the choke was wind effected but overall soft and edgeable. No instabilities we observed in the new snow as it was highly wind effected but no forming connected slabs. We took our next run in Chute. We found completely different conditions in Chute. There were signs of sluffing in the runout. There was much less wind effect observed in Chute. Lots of snow shedding from the upper reaches of the bowl accumulated to more than a meter deep snow in much of the line. We climbed up Chute and found difficult and deep boot packing conditions. I dug a couple quick hand pits and found discernable layers of snow but no obvious instability. Chute had skiable snow on all but the top steepest pitch. The ski surface was soft and smooth and made for fantastic turns.
