Red Flags Comment

NSF are rounding but still lying on Shady aspects and worth investigating. Wind loading is my main concern.

Pictured below is all the new snow breaking under my skis and sliding on NSF 6600'.

Pictured below are some of the mobile home sized cornices on the ridge leaning into Alexander Basin.

Snowpack

Off the ridge the snow conditions were prime skiing. On solars in the afternoon the sun was warming the snow surface. No wet activity was observed as of 1330. Shady, sheltered aspects stayed soft and enjoyable. Test slope at 6600' failed at NSF. Test slopes above this elevation and below ridges showed no cohesion or high quality fractures. Slopes, often near ridges, affected by wind failed at density changes at varying depth within the new snow.
