Quick report
Dug a pit on a North aspect on Whitfish Mtn at 7400 ft. ECTP12 down 55 cm with very clean shear. Block popped off and into our laps. Lots of sugary facets the slab popped on still well preserved and cold at that elevation. Also Lots of signs of recent avalanches from the last cycle in all directions and on most aspects. Snow stayed mostly dry on true north facing but very warm and wet everywhere else. Large wet slide came down across the Red Meadow road while we were out.

Large wet slide came across the Red Meadow road while we were out riding. Estimated at D2 with small trees snapped along the road. We were trying to get our machines across the debris as quickly as feasible, so couldn’t tell whether it released as a slab or point release.
