Quick report

Cracking
widespread
Collapsing
isolated

Approaching the saddle between Calf Robe and Summit, there were many signs of instability. Encountered heavy wind loading in random directions. As always it was windy. Two medium to large slides were spotted on Summit and Little Dog. Eight to twelve inches of light powder in some areas. In deeper areas I encountered shooting cracks that spread up to four feet out from under my skis. Phone was too cold and died after a few minutes (no photos). Turned around about halfway. Overall impression was that the snowpack out here is unstable as predicted.
