Quick snow pit before leaving in the AM. The evening prior and morning of we had specific cracking no more than 8ft on slopes from 20-30deg. When we did our pit we had the Jan 25-26 layer release about 15cm from the top with one shovel insert. We tried on test slopes with skis to release unsuccessfully. Snow is very wet and heavy.
