Observed a few natural, small D1 avalanches: -Martin Mine gully, midslope -Marmot Mid Rib, N gully. The intrepid splitboarder I spoke to in the parking lot noted isolated cracking on the tour up towards Gold Cord, citing that these cracks and collapses were only underfoot in unique pieces of smooth and firm terrain and did not propagate.

It was a little surreal up there post wind event. The winds were calm to light in the Pass at road elevation (but still gusting 20-30 at ridgeline at the time of this observation). Cold and clear conditions.
Snowpack
With such shallow snow already going into these strong and extreme winds, the forecast area has lost a lot of its snowpack. Snow surfaces that remain appeared firm, scalloped, and intermittent. If you look around, there are not a whole lot of large, connected slabs. Even the entries to a lot of leeward couloirs appeared stripped of a lot of their snow. The few areas (see Marmot mid rib) that do have smooth, firm-looking windslabs are generally lacking in continuity. The reactivity of these new wind slabs is likely to decrease as cold, clear conditions prevail following slab formation.
