Quick report
We toured up to Treeline to investigate the new snow and were happy to find that it was snowing at the parking lot when we arrived. We did confirm that a thin and breakable melt-freeze crust formed starting around 2100' and were pleasantly surprised that it skied well. This crust can likely be found at higher elevations and will be an interesting layer to track if it is buried with more new snow.

Rain on the road turned to snow at the Tincan parking lot. Skies remained obscured and snow was falling at a rate of up to 1cm per hour. Around 11 am cloud cover turned broken and the precipitation intensity decreased.
Snowpack
A dusting of new snow ~1 cm at 1000' and 10 cm at our high point ~2300'. You could still see runnels from water draining in the snowpack under the new snow. Starting at ~2100' we observed a thin and breakable melt-freeze crust beneath the new snow, it was still present at our high point at ~2300'.
We dug a quick snowpit to take a closer look at the melt-freeze crust, however no official tests were performed. It was still snowing lightly when we left the parking lot for the day.
