Quick report
We toured up sheep creek today. Traveled up to 9400ft and skied W, N, and S facing lines. Crust was evident on all aspects and more pronounced on solars. N facing was deeper due to wind deposit and high N facing no crust was felt. Literally watched cornices form and grow on leeward (E and N) sides. Stomped a few without any propagation. Hand pits were able to easily pull the new snow off the crust but it didn’t feel or appear consolidated. That being said we had one incident of sluffing and it was on a steep northerly shot in a wind loaded area. Ran ~150ft and fizzled out as the angle lessened. Some skin track washouts but no propagation observed. Overall the riding conditions were quite good and much better than just dust on crust as the recent storm had deposited a fair amount of snow and the wind has blown things around.
