Quick report

Connected the dots and linked 2 drainages above the hamlet of Nyack. Traveled on E-N aspects up to 6400ft. Observed 1 shooting crack, which only shot out aprox 6 feet in front of my ski while setting an uptrack. The shooting crack was on steeper roll over on a more exposed piece of terrain. We observed no other obvious signs of instability. Hasty pit: @ 6400 ft, NE aspect ECTN 12 Failed on the Jan crust Several hand pits and “jumping on switchbacks” performed… No signs of a slab forming on top of that pesky Jan crust/ facet layer… Great skiing conditions- instagram worthy & giving japow a run for its money. Still searching for the ever elusive Duke of Nyack.
