Quick report
The avalanche appeared to be in a localized wind slab near the top of the ridge. This slab was not present mid way down in the denser and more protected trees.

A skier in my group dropped in on the top of the chute and set off what looked to be a large slough from the top. Looking back up at it, it was a 8” inch crown that propagated about 45’ (R2D1).
