Quick report

This shed cycle has not fully stabilized. We circumnavigated chair peak + holy diver. we found consistently firm conditions on south aspects, while north aspects had 4” wet snow sitting on a harder crust. We observed that there was very low friction between the 4” layer and the bed crust and when pushed the 4” layer was very energetic. In the Snow Lake and Melakwa Lake basins, there was a cool breeze that kept conditions stable. In the Wildcat basin, which had no breeze, slopes were shedding hard and fast.

Avalanche

All avalanches observed @ NE 3300ft Lower Wildcat Drainage Observed 3 D1 Wet Loose rip in front and behind us, naturally trigged by falling snow from higher slopes (10:30am) Saw clear evidence of at least 1 D2 WL from this AM
