Snowmobiling in treed areas around the East side of Tumalo butte, observed cracking on 15-20deg convexities in multiple locations where older growth is more spaced and wind loading had occurred. No collapsing or crack propagation, no slides. Visibility was limited and we could not see the top of Tumalo nor much of the bowl from where we were to observe cornice formation or slide activity.
