Human triggered avalanche kinda complex nobody got buried.

Forecaster's Note: Snowboarder triggered near the sun/shade line at the top of the slope. Snowboarder was caught and carried, but ended up above the debris and was able to ride away as the debris came to a stop. Multiple smaller pockets released sympathetically while the avalanche was moving. Snowboarder attempted to deploy airbag, but the airbag did not inflate. There were around 30 tracks on the slope prior to the avalanche. CNFAC forecasters had dug a pit 50-100' upslope of the crown of this avalanche on Saturday (two days prior to the avalanche) and did not see any weak layers at the pit location. This just goes to show how hard it is to determine whether a specific slope is safe or not. This is an unusually dangerous problem that is very difficult to predict.
