Calm, clear weather persists throughout the area. Temperatures at upper elevations were almost 30 degrees F higher than those on the road. The recent surface hoar formation was abundant at road level and low lying areas.
Snowpack
Surface hoar up to 10mm long covered the flats between Worthington Parking lot and the base of Loveland to elevations of about 3000 feet. Most areas above the valley floor were covered by an unbreakabale windboard about 10-15 cm thick with a thin dusting of tiny near-surface facets on top.
Avalanche
No recent avalanches. An old avalanche that over-ran the common Loveland snow machine staging area was observed to be about 5 feet deep. This slide originated from the mid-mountain between Catchers Mitt and 27-mile glacier and is well over a week old.
