Mores Mountain

Quick report

We skinned up from Mores Gate at about 12pm MT. It was cloudy, warmer than expected, probably about 36 degrees F. Winds were calm. We ascended on a south facing aspect. Mores Mountain did not appear to get any rain yesterday and had a fresh layer of a few inches from the snow from yesterday. On the south facing ascent there was minimal ski penetration and about 10cm of boot penetration. We dug and analyzed pits at about 7200ft facing south. Slope angle about 12 degrees. We observed a persistent slab of strong over weak snow. The total snow depth was about 120cm with at least 60cm of strong layer on top of a weak layer of about 60cm. The layers seemed to be healing very well. In a compression test, I was unable to create a fracture (CTN).
