- <p>We had one significant collapse on low angle north facing slope around 9200'. At the upper elevations we noted some previous wind scouring that likely happened in the early part of the storm since their was low density snow on top. We did not note any recent avalanches in this area.</p>
In our snow pit we noted light unconsolidated snow on top of the old faceted snow. Our layer of concern was the new snow old snow interface. As we suspected, we did not produce any significant results, largely because the slab had not yet consolidated and was still fresh and powdery. However, as time goes, on and this new snow starts to develop a slab, the old snow may come to life.
Light to moderate winds, cool temps, and little sun kept the snow quality good through out the day.
