Arctic Valley - Gordon Lyon

I triggered and was caught and carried a ways down the north side of Gordon Lyon this afternoon. I was ok and rode the top of the debris. Once down I noticed other slides that had occurred naturally on the north facing steeper terrain. Trailbreaking back up to the AV parking lot was tedious mush.

Forecaster Note:  A few more details after speaking with the skier. They were carried around 500 vertical feet. At the time of the avalanche there were other slides as he mentions that were sympathetically triggered. There were both point release avalanches and slab avalanches that were breaking near the ground. The snowpack was moist to wet on top near the crown and wet lower down. These are believed to be wet slab avalanches intermixed with many wet loose. This area is clearly still transitioning from a winter to summer snowpack and has not stabilized.
**There could be more slopes out there with the similar set up so heads up to anyone headed out to the snow.
