Quick report

212 Rescue Squadron was doing some snow pack assessment training on Tincan. Warm temps, no wind and clear skies. South facing slopes showed multiple dry loose avalanches initiated on higher alpine rock bands. No instability or whoomphing noted. We performed multiple ECTs at 1800 and 2250 foot elevations. Snow pack showed a relatively upright hardness profile with a noticeable new snow interface on a crust down 40 cm and buried surface hoar at 65 cm. ECT results on the buried surface hoar ranged from ECTP12 (SP) to ECTX. Skiing was great!
