Blaine Mtn

Today's travels took us into Doris Creek on the west side of the Swan range. A short, sweet and simple day. 
• Surface hoar started appearing at 5,600 feet. It continued all the way to our high point of 7,200 feet. All aspects harbored it, with the direct sun tipping them over on S-SE aspects. 
•The first crust we encountered was down 30-40 cm. There were rounding facets above and below the crust.  Nothing remarkable in our ECT. 
•The snowpack remains right side up. Pockets of wind effected snow were found in predictable locations (below the ridge lines and opposing slopes of any scouring). 
•We did not experience any cracking in any of the older wind slabs we found. 
•Sluffing was very minimal. 

Things were very stable. We skied a bigger line and felt very comfortable doing it. No sluffing at all.
