Snowpack
Dug a snowpit at 2660' on a SW aspect. ~20cm of soft snow was resting on NSF above a 25cm thick MF crust from late January's pineapple express event. ECTP12 down 17. The Pineapple MF crust is supportable enough to walk on (boot pen 20cm) and slick enough to slip on. Facets within the snowpack looked like they were rounding but were difficult to observe with the intense sun.
Up to 10mm surface hoar was observed in protected areas. Also observed while traveling was the effects of the snow warming up fast in springlike temperatures- sticky snow, rollerballs, melting/dripping icicles.
