Snowpack

We went to Incline Peak to look at another area with a shallow snowpack in our forecast region.  On northerly aspects, light patchy snow existed above 8600' with additional snow as we gained elevation.  We had around 6'' snow depth at our snowpit area at 9200' and up to 9'' just below the summit at 9500'.  The snowpack in this area had a melt freeze crust on the surface with wet grains below.  Previous faceted snow that existed in this area is now fully wet and gaining strength.  As of the early afternoon, no snow had fallen in this area up to our high point of 9500'.
