High clouds and warm to start, getting progressively colder and foggier as the day continued
Snowpack
Dug snow pit, depth around 110cm. Obvious layer of ice at 17cm below surface. 1 finger hardness from 17cm down to 65cm, where a weak faceted layer was noticed with fist hardness. Below this, snow became much harder, with pencil hardness from 75cm down to the surface. Snow appears to be healing, but still concerning for slab avalanche potential. Compression test did not fracture for me but did for several in my party.
