Quick report

Cracking
widespread
Collapsing
widespread

The primary factor that kept hazard low where we traveled was the shallow snowpack, as there were many stumps, downed trees, bushes and boulders acting as anchors. Every hasty hand pit yielded sudden results, some collapsed on isolation. Failed on weak snow sitting on crust that rests 2-4" above the ground. On steeper features (30-32 degree slopes in dense forest) the snow was cracking, collapsing, and starting to slide with every step while setting a skin track.

Snowpack

Snow pack ranged from 85cm in large open clearings to 45cm in dense trees and on scoured ridgelines. Snow pack structure was consistent across all aspects and snow depths.
