Quick report
Quite a bit more snow on top of the pass than on Galena Peak. Steady southerly winds had transported much of the new snow as it was falling, creating wind slabs and drifts in exposed terrain.
I did not see any recent avalanches, but my visibility was terrible.Weather
Late afternoon/eve: rain line around 7800' on Salmon side of pass, precip falling as all snow on the Big Wood side. 10cm of dense snow at Galena Lodge, looked like closer to 15-20cm on top of the pass. Gusty winds blowing out of the S/SE.
