Sherwin Ridge

The average height of snow is around 1 meter (3 ft), with the max measured depth close to 2 meters in wind-loaded areas along the ridge. it's fair to say we have some decent coverage for this time of year!
Overall, I noted a right-side-up and generally uninteresting snowpack. I spent much of the day looking for basal facets, and in a few favorable areas, I managed to find some, though this was harder than I had anticipated. In most of the places where I did find them, I noted that the layer was thin (between 3 and 15 cm) and broken by ground cover. Furthermore, i did not have any concerning test results in my pits today. All of this points positive for the future. - See profiles for more details
Cloud cover today did make for a warm and humid day. The surface of the snowpack was moist throughout my tour and felt sticky on the descent.
I was able to initiate some small fans of roller balls in steep terrain below 9,000', though warming had not reached the level of concern for loose wet activity by the time I exited the field.
