Quick report

We dug this test pit as practice for an Avy II course. Not alot of snow depth here in summit park. We were looking to see if a PWL of facets existed at the ground but did not find it. Instead it looks as though snowmelt prevented that layer from forming and/or any facets were melted and then re-consolidated into an ice layer along the ground. This area was also anchored by bushy vegetation and branches protruding from the ground. Overal this area of N and NW slope looked to be stable. While the location we dug appeared to be untouched there was also plentiful skier compaction in much of the neighboring skiable terrain.
