Around 7 inches of new snow near the top of Coneys with small amounts of drifting from the storm. We kept to simpler terrain in this area and did not ride near features we suspected were drifted by the wind event on Thursday or Friday. The fresh snowfall made it hard to identify old drifts. Riding conditions in mellower terrain is fast and fun.
While walking the ridge top, above a feature that avalanched at Thanksgiving and during the Christmas cycle, I experienced one large collapse. Ski pole probing revealed a thin, stiff windboard above weak facets with 10 inches of recently drifted snow at the surface. No cracking was observed.Weather

Snowpack
Today was a recreational, fun ski day riding mellow slope angles. A thin wind board was present below the recent storm snow across much of the open terrain near the top half of Coneys. Drifting from the recent storm was mild in this area, with no cracking in the soft drifts. Up to 7 inches of new snow with drifts around 10 inches.

I saw many tiny debris piles throughout the Ruby Range at upper elevations. Most slides were covered by some amount of new snow. I suspect most were small sluffs or wind slabs. A couple D1.5's and a D2 on Gothic are coded here. Far in the distance, outside the CBAC forecast area, on a southwest slope of Mount Belleview (not the one at Schofield Pass) had a D2-looking slide from the wind event on 1/9 or 1/10 - hard to tell if it was a big Wind Slab or Persistent Slab as it was drifted over and debris was out of view.
