I went up Gold Knob today from Warner Lake. There was about 4-5” of new fallen snow on picnic tables at the TH. Hiking up, the snow was spring like in lower elevations on SW aspects. Nearing tree line there was 6-9” of cold fresh snow sitting on top of a crusted layer of snow in sheltered and shaded areas from the first storm in late October. In protected and shaded areas the depth was about 11-13". SW winds were consistent and strong above tree line depositing snow on NE aspects. Drifts were forming behind protected areas. Was able to find some nice turns!
