Quick report
We dug a pit on a north aspect on a 14 degree slope at 9100'. HS 129. The depth hoar layer in our pit was 110 CM below the surface. We conducted a CT and didn't see any crack initiation on the JAN 2 PWL at this location however the depth hoar yielded a CT H SC. We conducted an ECT on the DH layer that scored an ECT X.... Feeling that the layer was just deep enough to not respond to the loading steps from the ECT we conducted a DT and an PST to further investigate the depth hoar layer. DT 13 SC followed by a PST 35/100 (END). Although this particular dragon seems to be hard to wake up in the snowpack it was still reactive and showing signs of propagation at this location.
