Quick report
Skied the NE face of Trimmer today, from 9900’ down to about 8500’. We found a thin (1-2”) wind skin for the top hundred vertical feet or so, but saw no cracking or signs of instability. We skied the right eleven and the bonus hill on the way out, and saw no signs of slab development or instability in either of these locations either. We saw some settlement cones, and ski pen was very reasonable, usually on the order of 4-8”. We did not see any recent crowns or avalanche debris in any of our travels today, despite passing through avalanche slopes on several aspects, and numerous ski tracks being present everywhere. There was a cloud deck present around 9500’ through the morning, but this mostly cleared by noon. Minor amounts of new wind transport was noted near the ridges. Solar slopes had a thin crust on them from yesterday, but were not getting much direct sunlight today. Ski conditions were excellent today, with good coverage all the way to the car.
