Quick report

Saw a cornice failure trigger a D2 wet slide while climbing Unicorn Peak in the Tatoosh Range in Mt. Rainier National Park. The slide occurred on a nearby ridge on West Unicorn Peak around noon. We heard what sounded like another cornice collapse and long slide later that afternoon while descending. Lots of cornice failures and ice fall happening in the mountains with warming temperatures - be careful!

Avalanche

Lots of evidence of fairly recent wet slides on steep slopes, mostly smaller in size.
