Forecast Snow Stability: There will be no change to the current situation with well bonded, patchy snow present. A superficial thin layer of new snow will be present at the highest elevations with some inconsequential accumulations developing. Largest areas of snow will be encountered in the high North and East facing corries above 900 metres. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: Light overnight rain will turn to sleet and then snow as the freezing level lowers to around 650 metres by daylight. Only a trace of new snow is expected with no precipitation forecast for the majority of the day. Strong South-Westerly winds veering North-North-Westerly by the end of the period. Observed Weather Influences: A dry day with a lowering cloud base moving in during the late morning. West-South-Westerly winds increasing in strength to strong South-Westerly. Freezing level around 950 metres. ObservedSnowStability: The remaining patchy snow is very firm, well bonded and stable. Very little snow remains below 800 metres with larger areas present above 900 metres in the steep North and East facing corries of the highest mountains. The avalanche hazard is Low.
