The sometimes strong wind will transport the loosely bonded old snow. In some places further wind slabs will form. The fresh and older wind slabs remain in some cases prone to triggering in particular on shady slopes above approximately 2500 m. Avalanches can be released in near-surface layers, even by small loads in isolated cases. This applies in particular adjacent to ridgelines and in pass areas, and on very steep slopes. In the afternoon the likelihood of wet avalanches being released will increase gradually. Small and medium-sized moist and wet avalanches are possible, especially in steep rocky terrain.
Outgoing longwave radiation during the night will be reduced in some case. Above approximately 2200 m up to 10 cm of snow will fall. At high altitudes and in high Alpine regions snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind. Individual weak layers exist in the snowpack on shady slopes. In particular in shady places that are protected from the wind above approximately 2200 m: Towards its surface, the snowpack is soft; its surface consists of loosely bonded snow.
The avalanche danger will increase but remain within the current danger level.
