Kernpunkte

Slight increase in danger of dry avalanches as a consequence of new snow and wind.

Lawinenprobleme

  • New snow

    • Above 2,200 m

Avalanche Activity

Slight increase in danger of dry avalanches as a consequence of new snow and wind.

The fresh snow and the mostly small wind slabs that are forming in particular above approximately 2200 m represent the main danger. Several small and medium-sized dry avalanches are possible as a consequence of new snow and strong wind. In all regions only a small amount of snow is lying for the time of year.

Snowpack Structure

Over a wide area 15 to 20 cm of snow will fall above approximately 1400 m. The new snow is very loosely bonded above approximately 2200 m. In some places new snow and wind slabs are lying on the soft surface of an old snowpack. Towards its base, the snowpack is faceted. This applies in particular on shady slopes in particular above approximately 2500 m.

Tendency

Gradual increase in avalanche danger as a consequence of the precipitation.
