Slight increase in danger of dry avalanches as a consequence of the new snow.
The fresh snow and the mostly small wind slabs that are forming in particular above approximately 2200 m represent the main danger. The prevalence of the avalanche prone locations will increase in the afternoon. In the regions where more snow falls danger level 1 (low) may be reached in the afternoon. The Avalanche Warning Service currently has only a small amount of information.
Over a wide area 20 to 30 cm of snow, and even more in some localities, will fall above approximately 800 m. This snow is very loosely bonded above approximately 2000 m. As a consequence of snowfall and the strong southerly wind, snow drift accumulations will form in the course of the day.
