Kernpunkte

A mostly stable snowpack exists in the Teton area. At the mid and upper elevations isolated shallow surface slabs that have formed from recent winds exist on a variety of aspects and could be human triggered on steep wind loaded terrain. These small slabs could be enough to sweep someone off cliff if on steep, exposed terrain. Also at the mid and upper elevations a buried weak layer of faceted snow persists. Some potential remains for humans to trigger old hard slabs up to 3 feet in depth on steep shaded slopes on this buried layer. At low elevations avalanches are unlikely in the shallow snowpack.
