Avalanche Summary

You can trigger an avalanche on steep wind-drifted slopes that face north through east to southeast. These wind-drifted slopes can be identified by harder-feeling, supportable snow. The slopes where harder slabs sit over collapsible weak layers are often located directly below ridgetop and in steep above treeline gullies.

Weather Summary

Signs of unstable snow, like cracking and collapsing, have diminished, but you could still trigger an avalanche. Wind-drifted slopes with a weak layer are the most dangerous and could be triggered from below. Avoid slopes with bulbous, firm snow, which will also be the most tempting to ride because of the best coverage. Lower-angle slopes and those without a slab offer safer travel.

Temperatures will be warm over the weekend, especially east of the Continental Divide. Watch for rollerballs and wet snow, especially in steep terrain.
